Juan A. Pineda, a 20-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Thursday, April 30, 1992, at 4028 Santa Monica Blvd. in Silver Lake. He was taken to a local hospital, were he died. Pineda, a cook at a Mexican restaurant on Wilshire Boulevard, was struck by several bullets during a firefight outside Auto Color Plus Inc., a car paint and supply shop near the corner of Santa Monica and Sunset boulevards.
